Man bites dog

Charlie Sykes actually stands up for what's right, for once, in a dispute between Citizens for Responsible Government and the Journal Sentinel.

Sykes has usually been a shill for CRG, whatever cause they're espousing, and any recall they're running.

Maybe this Six Sigma stuff sounds a little touchy-feely to him?

Sykes a shill for CRG? After all that has been said and done, especially the disagreements, is it possible that Sykes and CRG just share a lot of common ideology?

Frankly, after reading the Spivak and Bice column I would have thought the same. In fact, I had to check my ID to make sure I was still me.

As for Six Sigma, you need some facts. A little Google-ing should convince you that Six Sigma is anything but "touchy-feely" and is about a rigourous approach to quality improvement, cost reduction, and accountability. Does Jack Welch, Six Sigma's biggest proponent impress you as a touchy-feely guy? Political insiders hate the accountability part and are afraid to death of Six Sigma because of it because it will expose them. I heard a great quote the other day. "If you are catching flak, it means you are over the target and its time to drop the bombs."

As for my involvment let me make something clear. There is no way in God's green earth I will ever make a nickel on it. S&B like to play this little "what if" game which I foolishly but honestly bit on. They then use your answers to support their predetermined slant. Let me put it to you this way. I most certainly would accept any money thrown my way. Just like I would accept a million dollar contract from the Green Bay Packers to play left tackle if it were offered to me. Neither one is likely to happen for any number of obvious reasons I would be happy to share if you were interested in the truth instead of unethical journalism.

But, just for the sake of argument, what if I did run a Six Sigma company and offered the service to the county for free. Wouldn't they be a fool not to take it? Where is the downside? Since the Ament debacle (all Democrats by the way, not that the Republicans are any better mind you) Milwaukee County taxpayers have shelled out $121 million dollars in additional property tax dollars for the enhanced benefits and still counting. I do not think most people understand the gravity of the situation. Six Sigma is world renowned as a process improvement tool.
So, if a guy offers something for free that may help the county out of a jam, you feel they should not accept it if there is a chance it might work and the offerer would make a buck. Is that your position?

Let's face it. Some people will be pissed off if guys like me get ahead no matter what the circumstances. That is what drives this. Everybody who has the facts knows I have no financial stake in Six Sigma. They don't care because they are the political shills for disingenuous political patrons. For them this is all about personal power and has nothing to do with helping the people.

Just wait until this December when you have people facing 60% fuel increases and have to make a choice between paying their property taxes or keeping the heat on. It will make the Ament uprising look like a walk in the park. Timber! You will start to see the political hacks on both side of the asile start to tumble. You might want to stop taking sides now because there aren't any good ones.

Regards,

Chris Kliesmet
