Leibham's Wal-Mart links questioned

Did State Sen. Joe Leibham, R-Sheboygan, get $1,000 in contributions from the family that owns Wal-Mart because he supports school choice -- or because he used his influence to get Wal-Mart a meeting with the state DOT?

Sadie Says, a Sheboygan-based blog, raised that question recently. Now the Sheboygan Press is asking. Sadie has the story.

That must be because the State Senate Democrats support school choice.

So, for those of you scoring at home:

Taking $3,000 from Wal-Mart means you support school choice.

Taking $1,000 from Wal-Mart means you are clearly corrupt.

Thanks for clearing that up.

So much for sarcasm. It was too subtle even for the Yorkster.

Of course the Senate Dems don't support school choice. But that was the explanation for Leibham getting the money, although he had just done Wal-Mart a big favor.

Just what is it the Senate Dems have done for Wal-Mart? This looks to me like a case of pay-not-to-play.

No, you're right - I did miss the sarcasm. I believe there are actually some Senate Dems that support school choice, like Jeff Plale, who you point out above has earned himself a primary opponent. Goes to show what independent thinking earns you as a Wisconsin Democrat.

And as far as Leibham goes, good luck in your smear campaign - the guy is a boy scout - almost painfully so.
