Then this response by By Greg Anrig, Jr. at TPM Cafe, which dissects Tierney's version, making it two tales of the same city.

Media Matters also took on some of Tierney's claims, in particular that he deliberately misrepresented a 2005 study of the program's effect on the public schools.
