We don't need no stinkin' training
Why would anyone think Wisconsin lawmakers could benefit from a little training about ethics?
Speaker John Gard sees no problem. Either does Roth Judd of the State Ethics Board, a toothless watchdog if there ever was one.
State Rep. Mark Pocan thinks Gard's insistence, and Judd's agreement, that legislators are exempt from a new law requiring ethics training -- in a word -- stinks. He's right.

So, Xoff, where do you stand on SB1? How about a little history on this interesting piece of legislation and Wild Mike Ellis, the reforming Republican?
It's an interesting piece of history and provides a little perspective on why so many people shun politics altogether and tend to the "Pox on Both Your Houses" brand of apathy.
Maybe the stars are aligned this year and true reform is possible and the public will elect officials who are committed to putting the needs of their constituents ahead of special interests. This is, after all, the best of all possible worlds.

The bill the Republicans just killed in the Assembly, while Mark Green didn't utter a peep?
I support it.
