Sensenbrenner strikes again

Gee, Badger Congressman F. Jim Sensenbrenner is on a roll.

First he cracked down on those pesky immigrants who want to drive a car, winning passage of a bill to create what may turn out to be our first national ID card. ("May I see your papers, please?")

Now it's drug laws. How draconian can you go? Pretty darn far, F. Jim says. How about five years in the slammer for possessing or selling any illegal drug, in any amount? A little pot in the car? See you in five years, buddy.

Can't believe it could happen in 2005? Read this LA Times editorial and weep.
