CRG: They came, they failed, they left

Citizens for Republican Responsible Government, which was making a lot of noise about shaking up Madison, has terminated its committee.
Ald. Zach Brandon reports: As fast as Citizens for Responsible Government (CRG) blew into town, they blew out. They are leaving Madison after fanning the flames of discontent over the smoking ban and attempting, along with area tavern owners, to recall the mayor.

They failed to get enough petition circulators... let alone signatures.

What they were able to accomplish was to waste a tremendous amount of city staff time. CRG, an organization purportedly formed to end tax dollar waste, made multiple, very broad open records requests... but they never picked up the results. That is what I call waste.
My tipster (not Zach) says: "I'm shocked and appalled that the MSM hasn't picked up on this. It is obviously a vast conspiracy that extends to the highest levels, perhaps even Rupert Murdoch himself, to cover this up."
