Do-Not-Recruit list comes to Milwaukee

The Do-Not-Recruit List, which prevents high schools from giving contact information on students to military recruiters, has come to Milwaukee.

Parents have always had the right to ask that their junior and senior sons and daughters be taken off the list, which schools must supply to recruiters as part of the No Child Left Behind Act. But until recently that provision was unpublicized.

Now parents not only have that option, but will know they have it.

You can link your partisan fears to NCLB all you want. When these kids hit 17, they have to register. You really are reaching on this one. The Selective Service and military recruiting predate G.W. and NCLB.

By the way - I am still waiting to hear more about G.W's war for cheap oil - how's that one going? Wasn't that part of your early radical utterings (pre-blog)?

You must have me confused with some other pinko who said the war was about oil. I have always said it was about payback, and getting even for Daddy, no matter how many lives W needs to sacrifice to feel macho.

Bush screws even this one up.

We only lost the blood, but didn't get the oil.

What a bargain.
