New blog on the block

There's a new blog in town -- well, maybe not in town. It says it is Madison-based, and sounds like it. The editor says he's "an agitated political observer and participant who finds the distortions and deceptions of the right nearly too much to bear at times."

Yes, it's anonymous, just like Dennis York. But this guy isn't pretending his name is Fredo.

The blog's called Dubya Is Fredo, which suggests that either I am getting old or not watching enough television.

Here's the explanation on the blog:

To Fredo is to irresponsibly use deception and betrayal to achieve results one would not be able to gain through strength of fact. Like Fredo Corleone, in every action he has taken throughout his career, George W. Bush has acted identically, choosing his own personal political expediency above all else.
So Fredo is a person and a verb?? Go figure.

Despite its name, Bush doesn't seem to be the blog's focus. The first 10 posts rip Bush, Pat Robertson, Wisconsin Republican Party Exec Rick Wiley, TABOR, State Rep. Scott Suder, State Sen. Dale Schultz, and a few more. It looks like a fair amount of content will be about Wisconsin, with a decidedly leftward point of view.

Hmmmm. Corleone. That has a familiar ring to it. Is it Italian? Did he run for alderman in Kenosha once? I'm gonna have to Google this, I guess.
