Sykes the trash man rolls merrily along
Charlie Sykes, Republican radio hatchetman/mouthpiece, assaults Rep. John Dingell, using a link from PowerLine:
MONDAY, July 31, 2006, 4:44 p.m.The next day, PowerLine admitted it had used only a partial quote from Dingell, and published the rest:
HEZBOLLAH'S DEMOCRATIC FRIEND
Senior Congressional Democrat John Dingell is not against Hezbollah.... This is, of course, not nearly as shocking as Mel Gibson's rant.*
*Which was despicable and indefensible, especially since he is not Jess Jackson, Al Sharpton, a member of the United Nations, or an Islamo-fascist imam.
John posted a link to a video clip of Democratic Rep. John Dingell on YouTube and posted the audio of the clip here. John accurately quoted Dingell as follows:There's more here. Even the loony-moonie Washington Times has set the record straight and apologized. But Sykes does no update and goes merrily on his way. Having slimed Dingell unfairly, he sees no need to clean it up. That's how it works in Sykes World, where he always gets the last word and you never give a sucker an even break.
"I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah; I don't take sides for or against Israel." Asked, "You're not against Hezbollah?" Dingell answers, "No..."
ThinkProgress has posted a longer video clip and points out that Dingell continues his last answer:
No, I happen to be—I happen to be against violence, I think the United States has to bring resolution to this matter. Now, I condemn Hezbollah as does everybody else, for the violence.

Looks like Cheap Shot Chuck is too busy to do updates.
It isn't a matter of updating it. This had been roundly discredited before Sykes posted it at all. The truth just doesn't mean that much if he can get a shot in.
Why let the truth get in the way of a cheap shot?
Milwaukee, we have our own home-grown Bill O'Reilly. All we need is a local Keith Obermann to make his life hell.
