Vote count problems, here and there

Screaming headlines about hand-counting ballots in the City of Milwaukee, although I will bet $10 to a doughnut that the only numbers that change significantly are the total number of votes cast, not the candidate totals.

Meanwhile, if you look hard enough, you might discover that there were widespread problems in Waukesha, too. But hardly worth mentioning, apparently.

Bayfield County, error in my favor.

town of bell shows 59 for Doyle, 25 for Falk, 39 for Lautenschlager, 52 for Kohl, and 112 for me. I can easily imagine a few voters hitting my name and leaving the rest blank, but not this proportion.

To paraphrase a commercial from my home town brewery: Our election system is a traveshamockery.

It is not enough for Democrats to point out that requiring driver's licenses won't fix the problem. We need to develop and implement real solutions to make sure that votes are counted accurately.

Maintaining public confidence in the voting system is critical to maintaining a peaceful democracy.
