Quote, unquote

"The principle sin of the neoconservatives is overbearing arrogance. It is not so much that they have been wrong. It is that nobody has ever convinced them that they have ever been wrong."
-- David Keene, chairman of the American Conservative Union and Fort Atkinson's contribution to the right-wing leadership.

I think that many are realizing that the neocons are not conservatives, but a far more radical and extreme form of federalists.
Many Republicans have quite liberal social views, they don't like discrimination of any kind, they don't like debt and they really don't like corruption. They went through this whole corruption thing Nixon, they know welfare is important and they still beleive in the party of Lincoln protecting all people as equals.
What they are unhappy with is the hijacking of the party by the neocons.
It would not surprise me to see the Republicans purge them from the ranks, and dump them on the libertarians.

What has happened, and will be evident in the Nov 7 election, is that many of those so-called Reagan Democrats ( who vote split tickets) are leaving the GOp for good, until the neocons are gone.
