Repubs duck and cover on Social Security

The four Republicans in Wisconsin's Congressional delegation aren't exactly front and center to talk about President Bush's Social Security plan, even though they are all in safe GOP districts.

And Mark Green, who's running for governor, makes it sound like he's barely heard of the Bush plan, let alone taken a position on it. A classic Green quote: "I haven't had much of an opportunity to look and see what that actually means." (Maybe because he is too busy running for another office?)

Craig Gilbert's story in Sunday's Journal Sentinel has more.

UPDATE: Here's a good summary of the Bush plan. Maybe someone in Mark Green's office could write him a memo about it. Primer on Bush "plan."
