Does Wisconsin GOP deliver?

While some right-wing bloggers literally give a minute-by-minute report on the state Republican convention in Appleton, (8:47 -- No news, yet. 8:48 -- Still none.) The Recess Supervisor asks Repubs:

What has the Republican Party of Wisconsin done for you lately? Like in the last 20 years? What has it accomplished? Who has it elected?

As a Democrat who often asks the same question about the DPW, I found it encouraging. Maybe it's not just us.

It's tough to get any legislation passed when the Guv vetos everything that is republican sponsored. Not all of the legislation is good and deserves to be vetoed but even good legislation is shot down simply because it's republican. Any chance of override is impossible because the Dems are too afraid to cross Doyle. Voting to override Doyle means your put on the contribution black list next election.

If you click the link and read the post, you will discover it is about winning elections, not passing legislation.

The GOP majority has had no interest in compromising to pass anything Doyle could actually sign into law. It has all been about posturing and partisan politics.

The Wisconsin Republicans are part of the national GOP, which now stands for Gas and Oil Party. It used to be( under Bush I) if you voted GOP you elected a government that benefited oil states(i.e. Texas and Wyoming) at the expense of states like Wisconsin and Minnesota. Now it's even worse under Bush II the money goes straight to Bush's Saudi friends like the Bin Laden family. It's time for Wisconsinites to awaken to what the GOP has become-- a wholy owned subsidiary of the Gas and Oil industry.

That is a valid question that Democrats should be posing to the voters, aimed at not only state policies but national as well. Certainly this should be given a healthy debate among the state's pundits.

The fact is the GOP has nothing to offer average people. That is why the state GOP wastes our time on worthless solutions seeking problems such as voter ID, conceal and carry, same sex marriage and the death penalty; and avoids real solutions to the healthcare crisis, Wisconsin competitiveness, massive minority poverty and state government corruption.

Sykes, Belling and McBribe can rant and rave all they want, but in the end they have been pushing program that in the end screw just about all their listeners.

The idea that Doyle is blocking solutions is a joke. The GOP has none.
