It was a dark and stormy news release

Gretchen Schuldt has honored a Paul Bucher for AG news release for having "the longest first sentence in a poorly-written news release." It runs on some 70-plus words, the exact total depending upon whether Van Hollen is one word or two.

It's basically an embarrassing rant triggered by the fact that Bucher's opponent, who has more money in the bank than he does, has launched a statewide radio buy.

So would you rather have an embarrassing news release posted on a few websites, or a $36,000 radio buy? Or do you think they are roughly equal? Just asking.

I'll bet $5 that Mrs. Bucher wrote it.
