Quote, unquote

"You know your opponent is scared when his main opposition against you is, 'My opponent likes girls.'"
-- Rep. Harold E. Ford Jr., in response to a racially-charged Republican TV spot in his Senate race.

Ken Mehlman's dance around the anti-Ford ad ranks high in the annals of "Don't Look Behind the Curtain" political performances.

The ad clearly says it was paid for by the Republican National Committee. But the Chairman insisted on NPR this morning that it was produced by an independent group and the RNC had nothing to do with it. In fact, Chairman Ken said he didn't like the ad but was legally prevented from even speaking with such groups.

An RNC spokesperson then said the ad would be taken out of the rotation (sounds like a pitcher with a sore arm) yet the ad continues to run today.

(According to the Nashville Tennessean, the replacement ad has some facts that haven't been confirmed so the old ad remains on the air.)

The chairman and the other supposedly genius architects of the GOP asendancy appear to be strutting sans clothing this year.

By the way, the Michael J. Fox ad is powerful and effective. Could it be the Democrats are actually thinking and acting strategically this year? The Apocalyse may be nigh!

You know you aren't doing well when you have to run ad's on stem cell research in July and finish it off with a vibrating movie/TV actor who could be part of your family ties or a nostalgic view of going back to your own future.

Wouldn't it have been nice if your governor could have run on a record of accomplishment instead? Oh well, too bad for you. At least he spared you the hassle and kept you away from his re-election campaign.

Don't you hate being responsible for getting idiots into office?

Hey out, aren't you guys always harping on the notiion that we should be promoting business in this state. That is your fake knock on Doyle.

Here's our chance to hook our wagon on to an explosive technique for cures. And please, don't show your ignorance about nothing has been done with embryonic research, because any one who knows how medical research works realizes that the really big things in medicine take time.

By the way, keep being childish and nasty on Michael J. Fox. Hope Sykes succumbs to the tempation as well, though there has been very little discussion among the wingnuttery because theuy know they are screwed it they over react.
